WASHINGTON, D.C. – January 28, 2025 – Sol Systems is pleased to announce the appointment of Richard Romero as its Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Mr. Romero brings over three decades of leadership experience in finance and energy to Sol Systems.
As the clean energy industry scales, financing and strategic capital management have become critical for the development of large, clean energy projects. Mr. Romero’s expertise will enable Sol Systems to further expand its capital partnerships, drive innovative customer offerings, and deepen connections with corporate and retail customers seeking clean energy solutions.

Mr. Romero joins Sol Systems after serving as Vice President of Treasury and Global Project Finance at First Solar, where he managed the financing of utility-scale solar projects and solar panel manufacturing facilities worldwide. Prior to that, he held senior finance roles at Royal Dutch Shell and Ashmore Energy International.

Mr. Romero holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from New Mexico State University and an MBA from the University of Houston.
